Stacey Watson - Like many other women of color, I have always had a dream of having long hair but could never achieve it. From an early age, it was embedded in my brain that only those women with good hair or mixed with another culture could have long hair.

During my early teenage years, the love of long hair showed up in the form of braids and all types of extensions to make my hair longer. Many grueling hours and thousands of dollars have been spent over my life span just to maintain the “look.”

Over the years, my hair had really paid the price and I felt as if I was on a neverending rollercoaster that I just didn’t know how I could get off without looking a hot mess!

I will never forget the set of events that led to my utter disgust with my hair which was my turning point and changed my life forever. My hair had finally reached a length that I thought I could be happy with; it was about 1 inch or so below my shoulders if worn straight with no curls and it was “banging” if I don’t say so myself! But of course, that would not be enough for me; I also wanted my favorite weave color to go along with my newfound length. Number 27, the color that always made my complexion pop was the thing I wanted and I was determined to have it. After relaxing my hair, I decided it was time to color it. So, I waited a week and had my sister-in-law color it (she assured me it would be safe). I trusted her because; after all, she had gone to beauty school. So, we applied the color, but for some reason it was not my beloved #27 and it looked red, not what I wanted at all. So I asked, “Can we do it again next week?” “No problem,” she said. PROBLEM was exactly what I had! My hair started breaking off in excessive amounts and all I could do was cry!

Little did I know that this event would change my life and my hair forever! This is where the birth of Sizta 2 Sizta Healthy Hair Care Co. started and it was only the beginning. In late 2003, I set out on the quest for knowledge pertaining to black hair care and black hair growth. After gathering my knowledge, I started putting what I had discovered to the test. In six months, my hair had made a drastic turn around and went from breaking to growing again. I started out with one conditioner and started writing down every step that I took and everything I did so I could document what worked for me and what didn’t. From there, my booklet, “Steps 2 Sensational Hair Guide” was born and my regimen “Growing Hair One Inch at A Time” was a success. I eventually grew my short damaged hair from my ears to past my bra strap. Today my hair is approximately about 2 inches below my bra strap and although I am extremely happy with my length I am trying to see if it’s possible to grow to my waist.

Today, I have over 11 products that I specifically formulated and blend myself. I decided to go this route so that I could have complete control over what went into my products and keep the quality consistent. It was also important to me to offer quality products at fair and reasonable prices. I am currently working out a Shea Butter Hair Care Line that I hope to have ready in early 2008.

Here at Sizta 2 Sizta, our mission is to be a place where African American women can get accurate knowledge pertaining to hair care and offer superior products at a price they can afford. My hope is that by means of re-education about black hair care, our little girls can make their long hair dreams a reality.
