Sisters Sippin' Tea Literary Group -Tulsa Chapter, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting literacy in our community. We initially started out meeting monthly to share our passion for reading but soon had a vision that we were destined to be more than just a social reading group. Because of the philanthropic thrust of the Tulsa branch of SST, we consider ourselves more than a book club. We host several literary events a year with the largest being the Annual Fall Books and Brunch - a fund raiser for Sisters Sippin' Tea Community Outreach Programs. We have an active book review committee, make substantial contributions in our community and maintain a reading group - Little Sisters Sippin' Tea - for girls eight through twelve years of age.

The Tulsa Chapter is comprised of twelve wonderful and diverse ladies between the ages of 30 -50. We recently commemorated our 5th year together as of April '07. There are currently twenty-eight SST chapters, with one located in Cairo, Egypt. The core chapter is located in Houston, Texas and has been together for seventeen years.

Our Statement

The Tulsa Chapter of Sisters Sippin' Tea Literary Group is committed to providing an opportunity for African American Women from all walks of life to come together for a common primary goal – reading and promoting literacy through our community service outreach programs. Our pledge is to transmit our passion for literary pursuits to future generations.
